Byes: Arizona, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Seattle, St. Louis

- Miami and Oakland have both been struggling.  I am taking Miami in this one since they showed more in their opening win against New England, although they are without Knowshon Moreno.
- The Packers have been struggling especially last week against the Lions.  I expect Green Bay to rebound against the Bears whose defense is hit or miss.
- I'm taking Houston at home in this one.  Ryan Fitzpatrick plays against his former team.
- Jake Locker is out and Charlie Whitehurst is starting.  I'm going to go with the Colts to take care of business.
- Baltimore has been playing well since they can run the ball plus Steve Smith looks to get revenge against his former team.  The Panthers are banged up and lost to the Steelers.  The Ravens should win.
- The Jets are so far 0-2 against the NFC North.  I'm looking for that trend to continue with the Lions coming up on top over the Jets.
- Tampa Bay has been flat out terrible and Pittsburgh has been playing well.   I have to go with the Steelers here.
- Yes the Chargers have been playing well- still 13 points is a lot of points.  I'm reluctantly taking Jacksonville here to cover.
- For San Francisco, this is a must win since they are already 1-2 in a competitive NFC East.  I'm still trying to figure out if the Eagles are a legit 3-0.  Still, the 49ers should rebound against a decimated Eagles offensive line and not so great defense.
- Atlanta plays the Adrian Petersonless Vikings who will start Terry Bridgewater.  The Falcons offense should get enough points to cover here.
- New Orleans is on the road here but in Dallas they never have much of a homefield advantage so I'm thinking the Saints should cover.
- The Chiefs have been playing well; still the Patriots should win here.

My Week 4 Pick for NY Giants at the Washington Redskins

Kirk Cousins even subbed in for RG3 on South Park

Date & Time
FavoriteLineUnderdogTotal
9/25 8:25 ETAt Washington-3NY Giants45.5

Washington is coming off a close loss against the Eagles while the New York Giants were able to put up some points on a decent Houston Texan's defense. Washington has a good opportunity to win this game since the Redskins offense has found an extra gear since Kirk Cousins has been inserted plus they are playing at.  It is hard to tell which Eli Manning will show up although he could still fare well with DeAngelo Hall's absence, who went out for the season with an Achilles injury.  And Washington's special teams is worrisome which has already given up 2 special teams touchdowns in two games and has missed a couple of field goals and even an extra point has been blocked.

Still, I'll have to take Washington here to cover.   I wonder if last night South Park episode gets mentioned in tonight's broadcast.

Last week: 9-7 against the Spread
So far this week: 1-0

- San Diego had an impressive win against Seattle last week.  Still, Buffalo has been playing out of its mind lately with wins against the Bears and the Dolphins.  I'm picking Buffalo here.
- People are still not be believing in the Cowboys right now.  Still, the Rams only win came against the Bucs who were blown out by a significant margin against the Falcons.  Seems like the Cowboys should win this game and cover here.
- The Eagles are 2-0 while the Redskins are missing RG3.  Still, Cousins was impressive against Jacksonville.  The Redskins defense had 10 sacks this past weekend.  I'm not sure if the Redskins will win but it is a toss up game so I'm taking the Redskins to cover here.
- Houston is 2-0 while the Giants are 0-2. I'll take the Texans here because of their impressive defense.
- New Orleans finally gets to play a game at home.  The Vikings play another game without Adrian Peterson.  I have to expect the Saints to cover here.
 - Cincinnati is 2-0 coming off an impressive win against the Falcons. It seems as if the Bengals defense is elite and it will trouble for the Titans to get enough points after only scoring 10 points against the Cowboys.  I'm picking the Bengals to beat the Titans by more than a touchdown here.
- Cleveland may be better than what the Ravens faced in Pittsburgh.  Still, Baltimore showed a physical brand of football and I'm taking them to cover here.
- Green Bay's defense has been sub-par the past few weeks. I think Detroit should win this game with Stafford and Megatron having a field day.
- A battle of two 0-2 teams.  A division game could indicate that it could be close but the Jaguars are struggling immensely so I'm picking the Colts to cover here.
- New England looks to have found its groove and the Raiders are struggling. 14 points is a lot of points but I'm taking Brady and the Pats to run up the score.
- A battle of 2 equally matched teams.  I'm taking the Cardinals.
- Carolina should win this game against the Steelers.
- Look for Chicago to beat the Jets outright.

Thursday Night Pick: Atlanta vs Tampa Bay

Date & TimeFavoriteLineUnderdogTotal
9/18 8:25 ETAt Atlanta-6.5Tampa Bay47

Atlanta just got trashed by the Bengals on the road.  By all accounts, the Bengals defense is top notch.  The Bucs have played 2 close games and lost at home.  Look for Atlanta to rebound and cover the spread even though Roddy White is out.

My NFL Week 2 Picks

- Carolina is playing at home and getting Cam Newton back.  Stafford and Calvin Johnson could swing the game the other way, but the Panther's defense is more impressive than the Giants defense that the Lions faced last week.

- Miami comes off an impressive win against the Patriots while the Bills just beat the Chicago Bears.  I like Miami more - of course wouldn't shock me if Buffalo took this one.

- Washington has to win this game.  Jacksonville like Washington also failed failed to score in the 2nd half against the a game.  Still, the Redskins were within striking distance and hadit eliminated a few mistakes- they had 2 fumbles inside the 20 yard line and a blocked punt that was returned for a TD- the Redskins could have played at least a closer game.  Redskins can't expect to have the same mistakes two times in a row to cover the spread.

- I'm reluctantly picking Dallas here- I'm expecting Romo is not washed up completely and the 49ers defense had something to do with his sub-par performance.  Of course the Titans defense isn't chopped liver either.

- Arizona Cardinals are a good football team- including solid receivers, a promising running back in Ellington, and a solid defense.  Carson Palmer is hit or miss but Bruce Arians coaching him helps out.  I am not sure if the Giants defense can hang with the Cardinals and if Eli Manning has a grasp of the offense to pick the Giants.

- New England Patriots should win this game and I would have to think more about this pick if Adrian Peterson wasn't playing.  Matt Cassell playing his former team is interesting sub-plot in this one.

- I'm expecting New Orleans to play much better and it doesn't want to dig itself into to deep of a hole with an 0-2 start.  Cleveland showed some firepower against the Pittsburgh but it appears that the Steelers defense is broken.

- Give me Atlanta and the points.  The Bengals are slightly favored, but I expect Matt Ryan and his offensive arsenal to keep this game close.

-  Someone has to win this game- give me Tampa Bay. St. Louis QB situation scares me more than anything.

-  I barely have San Diego and the points in this one. The Seahawks are the superior team but this could be a trap for them as far as the Vegas lines go.

- Houston has a solid defense going for them and they are playing at home.

- Green Bay had a dismal performance against the Seahawks, they should do much better against the Jets.

- Kansas City probably won't win this game but I think they have a good chance to keep it within 2 scores.

- San Francisco's defense should play even better at home against the Bears who struggled against the Bills.

- I will take Luck and the Colts at home to beat the Eagles.  Philly's first half performance against the Jags is worrisome to me.
