Drew Gooden thinks the Washington Wizards are in the minority of teams that are trying to win a championship. From Wizards Insider
:
“To be honest, it seems it’s only a handful of teams that seem like they want to win a championship. In the past, when I first came in, it seemed like the whole league was eager to win a championship but it wasn’t really realistic, but they made those efforts and those moves to win. I see a handful of teams doing that now — and the Washington Wizards is one that wants to win. I think that’s why they added me for depth, going into the playoffs.”
By the way, even though the Wizards are 8-2 in their past ten games, they are still far away from being a contender- but at least they are heading in the right direction. Among those 8 wins, only 1 was against a team over .500.
